Christ Knocking on the Door

This icon portrays Christ knocking at a door, as depicted in Revelation 3:20, 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock.' Also seen in Song of Solomon 5:2, the image speaks to Christ’s tender persistence, calling each of us to communion with Him. He knocks at the door of our hearts, with only a handle from the inside, waiting for us to open and welcome Him in.
